What are Shields?
Shields are essential in safeguarding your landmarks from other players’ onslaughts. Every time someone attempts an attack on one of your landmarks, a shield gets automatically activated. However, if you have no shields, your landmark will get damaged and it will lose one level. With a limit of three shields at the beginning, managing these protective items becomes a strategic element of gameplay. The number of shields will increase as you progress through the levels.
How to use my Shields?
Your Shields will be used automatically when you equip them. You will see them on your current board and in the Shield icons at the top of the User Interface view. Your friends will also see them when they try to attack you and get blocked.
How to Get New Shields
There is a several ways to collect shields:
- Random Tile Spawns: Shields will appear randomly on the board. To collect them, simply land on a tile with a shield. Once collected, it may take some time for a new shield to appear. If your shield inventory is full, any additional shields you land on will convert into dice, adding another layer of strategy to your game.
- Participate in Events: Engaging in Monopoly GO events not only spices up your gaming experience but also rewards you with stylish shield skins and, occasionally, new shields. These events, filled with various challenges, offer lucrative rewards that can enhance your defensive capabilities.
- Complete Quick Wins and Milestones: Regularly completing quick wins tasks and hitting milestones within the game can earn you shields among other rewards. These tasks range from simple actions like landing on specific tiles to more complex objectives, integrating seamlessly into your gaming routine. Quick wins do not necessarily include shields as a reward, but it can happen to obtain them.
Customizing Shields with Skins
Getting different shield skins usually happens during seasonal events or through specific in-game achievements like daily check-ins, Quick Wins or unlocking Weekly Rewards. Themed shields add a layer of personalization and prestige to your Monopoly GO experience. Skins have no particular benefits other than making your shields look different. However, the act of unlocking many shield skins and collecting them can help you gain rewards.
To change your shields’ appearance, navigate to the ‘My Showroom’ section in the game. Here, you can browse through your collection and select the skin that best suits your style or strategy for the day.
Your showroom displays your current shield arsenal and teases upcoming collections through locked shelves, motivating players to continue their Monopoly GO journey and unlock new rewards.
You can access your Shield Showroom in three ways:
- Tap on the Shields icons at the top-right of the User Interface view.
- Tap on the 3D Shields you have in your current board.
- Through the menu in the top-right corner of the User Interface view, and tapping on the Shield section.
