Defining Hypercharge
Hypercharge in Brawl Stars refers to a time-limited mechanic or ability that speeds up the rate at which a Brawler’s Super ability charges. This can be through a variety of means, such as hitting enemy Brawlers with attacks, taking damage, or through specific gadget or Star Power interactions. Hypercharge allows players to use their Super abilities more frequently, changing the pace and strategy of the game. It was introduced in season 20. How Hypercharge Works
Hypercharge is typically associated with specific Brawlers who have abilities, gadgets, or Star Powers that enhance the charging of their Super. Players need to understand the conditions under which Hypercharge activates to maximize its benefits, as it can turn the tide of battle when used effectively.
Similar to charging your Super, Hypercharge is fueled by dealing damage (and sometimes taking damage). As you accumulate charge, a second bar fills up, granting you access to this potent ability. It’s like a temporary power-up that can turn the tide of battle!
Currently, 24 Brawlers have unique Hypercharge abilities in Brawl Stars. Let’s take a look at some examples:
- Shelly: Her Super becomes 33% larger, and she gains a 25% Speed boost, 5% extra Damage, and a 25% Shield.
- Colt: His Super widens by 120%, and he enjoys a 26% Speed boost, 25% more Damage, and a 5% Shield.
- Spike, Bull, Jacky, Pearl, Jessie, and others also have their own Hypercharge abilities, each with unique effects and stat enhancements
How to Get Hypercharge
Hypercharge isn’t something you can purchase with in-game currency or real money. The cost comes from the effort and resources needed to unlock and upgrade these specific Brawlers and their abilities. Here’s what you typically need to do:
- Unlock the Brawler: First, you need to unlock the Brawler who has the Hypercharge ability. Brawlers can be unlocked from Brawl Boxes, which you can get by playing the game or purchasing with gems (the in-game currency that can be bought with real money).
- Upgrade the Brawler: To use a Brawler’s full potential, including their Hypercharge capability (if it’s part of their kit), you need to play and win games to earn experience and coins, which are then used to upgrade the Brawler’s power level.
- Obtain the Star Power or Gadget: Once your Brawler reaches a certain level (usually level 7 for gadgets and level 9 for Star Powers), you can unlock their special abilities. These can be found in Brawl Boxes or purchased directly from the shop when available.
