Unlocking the Community Chest
When you first start playing Monopoly GO, the Community Chest is locked. To unlock this mini-game, you need to add at least five friends to your game using your exclusive invite link. Once you’ve added the required number of friends, a glowing blue chest will appear in the top-left corner of the Monopoly GO board.
How to Prepare the Community Chest
Before you can open the Community Chest, you need to land on Community Chest tiles on the board. Each time you land on one of these tiles, you add more money to the chest. Since the chest can only be opened once every 24 hours, it’s best to open it at the end of your day to ensure you collect the maximum amount of money possible.
Playing the Community Chest Mini-Game
Once you have filled the chest and are ready to open it, follow these steps to play the mini-game:
- Open the Chest:
- Click on the glowing blue chest in the top-left corner of the board.
- Start the Mini-Game:
- You will see a board with nine of your friends’ avatars. Click the “Start” button to begin.
- Remove Friend Avatars:
- The objective is to remove friends from the board and reveal the Community Chest key. The more friends you remove, the higher the jackpot you can win.
- Win the Jackpot:
- If you manage to remove all nine friends before revealing the key, all the money in the chest is multiplied by 50, and you also win a Purple Sticker Pack.
Keep in mind that the game is based on RNG (Random Number Generator), so luck plays a significant role in your success.
Understanding the Active Friend Bonus
As you play, you might notice some friends have a small gift icon next to their avatars. These friends can provide extra rewards such as additional dice, cash, sticker packs, or an ‘Active Friend Bonus’. The Active Friend Bonus allows you to manually select the next friend to remove.
To maximize your chances of winning big:
- Select Friends Strategically:
- Initially, choose a friend without a special prize. This increases the chances of getting another Active Friend Bonus later in the game.
- Maximize Rewards:
- Use the Active Friend Bonus to clear friends with gift icons as you progress, potentially increasing your jackpot and overall rewards.
